July 8, 2018 - Tonopah, AZ
First chase of monsoon season 2018! Chased a severe thunderstorm near Tonopah, AZ (50 mi west of Phoenix). It produced a large gustnado which I intercepted at close range!
July 11, 2018 - Perris, CA
Weak thunderstorm formed north of Hemet and moved west into Perris before dying out. Intercepted it in my usual favorite viewing spot. A brief spinup occurred which *could* have led to a landspout.
August 16, 2018 - Mojave Desert, CA
Storm chasing around the western Mojave Desert in Victorville, Adelanto, and Barstow. Heavy rain, lightning, and even a small haboob dust storm in Barstow.
August 17, 2018 - Anza, CA
Storm chasing around the Anza Valley in the southern San Jacinto Mtns. Encountered some brief supercell structure. This was the same location where a landspout tornado occurred the previous day.
