Vintage Chases
A collection of chase moments during the 'vintage years' of 1984-2000.
September 2, 1991 - Twentynine Palms, CA
Encountered flash flooding along SR 62 while chasing monsoon thunderstorms east of Twentynine Palms.

December 11, 1992 - San Joaquin Valley, CA
While traveling to northern California on December 11, 1992 I did an impromptu storm chase as severe thunderstorms broke out across the San Joaquin Valley between Bakersfield and Sacramento during a strong cold-core event. Spotted a funnel along SR 145 south of San Joaquin in Fresno County and a shelf along I-5 south of Los Banos in Merced County.

January, 1995 - San Gabriel Valley/Inland Empire, CA
Strong cold-core low moved over Southern California creating conditions for deep convection and severe thunderstorms. 1 inch hail fell to a depth of 4" from Azusa through Upland and into the Inland Empire.
